These Terms and Conditions (“Terms”) govern the rental agreement between Sholaja Rent-A-Car (“we,” “our,” or “us”) and the customer (“you” or “renter”). By renting a vehicle from Sholaja Rent-A-Car, you agree to abide by these Terms. Please read them carefully.

1. Rental Eligibility

To rent a vehicle, you must:

• Be at least 25 years old (a young driver fee may apply for drivers under 25).

• Hold a valid driver’s license and provide a secondary form of identification.

• Have a valid credit or debit card for payment and deposit purposes.

2. Vehicle Use

You agree to:

• Use the vehicle responsibly and in accordance with all applicable laws.

• Refrain from using the vehicle for illegal activities, racing, towing, or transporting hazardous materials.

• Ensure that only authorized drivers listed in the rental agreement drive the vehicle.

• Return the vehicle in the same condition as when rented, aside from normal wear and tear.

3. Booking, Payment, and Deposits

• Reservations: You can book online or  by phone.

• Vehicle Images and Availability: Please note that the images of vehicles displayed on our website are for illustrative purposes only and may be stock photos. The actual vehicles available for rent may differ in appearance and specification. While we make every effort to provide a vehicle that closely matches the one pictured, we cannot guarantee the exact make, model, or color. Vehicle available is subject to change based on fleet inventory and demand.

• Payments: Full payment for the rental, including any additional services or fees, is required at the start of the rental period.

• Deposit: A security deposit may be required at the time of rental. The deposit will be refunded upon the return of the vehicle in satisfactory condition, less any charges for damages, fuel, or additional fees.

4. Insurance and Liability

• You are responsible for any damage to the vehicle, loss, or theft during the rental period.

• You may be required to purchase insurance coverage or provide proof of adequate personal insurance.

• Optional Collision Damage Waiver (CDW) coverage is available for purchase to limit liability for damages, subject to Terms and exclusions.

5. Mileage and Fuel Policy

• Mileage: Most rentals include unlimited mileage. Vehicles with mileage limits will incur additional fees for exceeding the limit.

• Fuel: The vehicle must be returned with the same fuel level as at the time of rental. A refueling fee will apply if the vehicle is returned with less fuel.

6. Late Return and Extensions

• Late returns may incur additional fees. If you need to extend your rental period, contact us in advance to arrange an extension. Unapproved extensions may result in extra charges.

7. Roadside Assistance

We provide roadside assistance for emergencies such as breakdowns or lockouts. Costs may apply for certain services. Please contact us for assistance.

8. Accidents and Damage

• In the event of an accident, ensure safety first, contact local authorities, and then notify Sholaja Rent A Car immediately.

• You are responsible for the cost of repairs, loss of use, and other related expenses unless covered by insurance or a Collision Damage Waiver.

9. Cancellation and Refund Policy

• Cancellations: Reservations can be canceled by contacting us. Please note that cancellation fees may apply, especially for last-minute cancellations.

• Refunds: Refunds may be issued for prepaid bookings based on our cancellation policy. Refunds are processed back to the original payment method within a standard period.

10. Prohibited Uses

You agree not to:

• Use the vehicle for hire, driving instruction, or for illegal activities.

• Transport pets without a carrier (cleaning fees may apply).

• Allow anyone not listed on the rental agreement to operate the vehicle.

11. Privacy

Your personal information is collected and used according to our Privacy Policy, available on our website. By renting a vehicle, you consent to our collection and use of your data as described in that policy.

12. Modifications and Termination

We reserve the right to modify these Terms at any time. Any changes will be posted on our website. We may terminate or refuse rentals to individuals who violate these Terms.

13. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the state of Michigan. Any disputes will be resolved in the appropriate court within Michigan.
